Persephone
Combining my love for Greek mythology and the webcomic Lore Olympus, I was captivated by Persephone's character. This inspired me to create my interpretation of what her wedding dress might look like and delve into the art of body painting.
To create Persephone's wedding dress, I recycled my best friend's mother's wedding dress, giving it a new life within this cosplay. The skirt was meticulously crafted using 12 yards of tulle, adding a touch of elegance and authenticity to the costume.
One of the exciting aspects of this cosplay was the opportunity to explore body painting. Using Mehron applied with a brush, I carefully painted my skin an unnatural color, channeling Persephone's otherworldly appearance. This was my second time experimenting with body painting, and I felt that I made significant progress in refining my technique.
To complement the costume, I created a crown using bamboo skewers and repurposed jewelry, adding intricate details that mirrored Persephone's regal nature.
Cosplaying Persephone allowed me to bring together my love for Greek mythology and the enchanting world of Lore Olympus. The attention to detail in this cosplay, from the dress to the body paint, reflects my passion for these captivating stories.
